I'm gonna head up to mike's as soon as he gets back to dip my refinish rod. I need to work on my three weight as well. I'm gonna take a pretty cool old bird up there to meet him as well. he has a sweet phillipson I saw and wiggled yesterday.

gonna stard at chris and maybe move down to tonto and hears a who in the afternoon. maybe we can get a beer at the cabaret at the end of the day. or something.

anyways I'm going up there tomorrow.

Mikeytwoshoes,

The flies are on the way.

I tied a size 24 Bead Bubble Midge with gray body, black ice dub thorax, and silver bead bubble on top.

Tying instructions follow:

Hook: Daiichi 1130 size 22-26 (or similar scud hook)
Thread: Gray 3/0 Uni-Thread
Tail: None (optional brown hackle fibers)
Body: GrayThread
Rib: Spun thread rib
Thorax: Black Ice Dubbing
Bubble: Clear/Silver Micro Bead
Instructions:
Place the hook in the vise.
Take bead and thread it on to tying thread.
Secure thread near the middle of the hook and let bead fall to tip of bobbin.
Wrap the thread forward and then back to bend.
Spin thread tight and wrap forward to create a ribbed effect.
Stop 3/4 of the way to eye and pull up thread to the top of the hook.
Pinch the bead and take a loose wrap or two around the hook then pull tight to keep the bead on top.
Dub the thread and build up the thorax around the bead bubble.
    Whip finish and cement.
    Catch large fish!

This fly has been especially effective for me in the upper flats and in deeper runs and eddies. Best body colors are gray, cream, and brown.

Enjoy! Very Happy

Hey Mike. Thanks for the recipe. I use this fly a bunch but always in black and grey. You mentioned cream. What color of dubbing for the cream?

Thanks

I use the cream uni thread for the body. I use the black ice dub for the thorax on all the patterns. I think the shine attracts sometimes.

recv'd jeremy's and mike's sweet leetle midges over the past couple daze.
j threw in an extra set. you guys rock.

I've heard that punkin bread's something special.

I've lost track of who's in this sucker. there's another set on the way. anything that's not in the mail by the deadline (you need to let me know when you've mailed) will be returned. deadline's in what? like three daze?

you'll be pleased with yer selection of flies.

the hardest part of this will be cherry picking flies for j to shoot. might have to bust out the 6x magnification.

I should prolly get on that set of barr emergers.
