I have seen reports and recommendations on using a fly called a Dead Chicken. What is a Dead Chicken? How do you tie one? What does it look like? What type of fly is it? When is it used? I would like to tie some for an upcoming trip.

Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,

Someone else had the very same question a while back on this board a few posts down. It is any fly that represents a midge cluster. Most folks consider a size 10ish Griffith's gnat the dead chicken.

Take care,

Aaron

Thanks Aaron. I don't always look at the posting on the tying section. I'll look next time before I leap.
