On the fly pattern description on the pmd may fly the reference is made to a "strawberry hare`s ear and a strawberry pheasant tail". Anyone know what pattern he is referring to? Confused

Four months later...

From Flyfishing the San Juan
1988, Chuck Rizuto and Roy Stoddard, Three Rivers Publishing, Farmington NM

Strawberry Nymph
Hook: Mustad 9671 sizes 12 to 18
Thread: Brown
Tail: Mallard Flank
Body: Medium brown and maroon dubbing, ribberd with one strand of copper flashabou
Thorax: Medium brown and maroon dubbing
Wing case: Six strands of copper flashabou
Comments: Pick out the thorax with a bodkin to simulate the legs
Notes: This is a spring and early summer pattern. We use this pattern as an attractor nympth pattern in the riffles where there are plenty of rocks and moving water
